The China Brazil Science and Technology Innovation Center (hereinafter referred to as the "Center") was officially registered and established on the 8th local time in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and held a physical operation launch ceremony.
The center is jointly built by China National Offshore Oil Corporation, Petrobras, China University of Petroleum (Beijing), and Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, and is being implemented in sync with the China Brazil Institute of Excellence in Engineering.
It is reported that the center is positioned at the core of "technology innovation driven energy cooperation", focusing on the research and development of cutting-edge technologies in the energy field and the transformation of achievements. The center will integrate advantageous resources from all directions, rely on the industrial practice experience of China National Offshore Oil Corporation and Petrobras, and combine the scientific research and innovation capabilities of China University of Petroleum (Beijing) and Rio de Janeiro Federal University to build a deep integration of "industry university research application" cooperation ecology.
Chinese Consul General in Rio de Janeiro, Tian Min, expressed at the ceremony that he hopes the center can play a good role as a new platform for talent cooperation, a source of innovative achievements, and a booster for industrial upgrading, forming a number of demonstrative and influential cooperation achievements, and better assisting the energy transformation and industrial upgrading of the two countries.
Yu Jin, Vice General Manager of China National Offshore Oil Corporation, Jin Yan, President of China University of Petroleum (Beijing), Roberto Medronio, President of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, and Silvia Enros, Vice President of Petrobras, discussed the development prospects of the center from multiple perspectives.
