The 2025 China Digital Economy Innovation and Development Conference opened on the 28th in Shantou, Guangdong. At the meeting, a total of 36 digital economy projects were signed in three categories: digital infrastructure, digital scene applications, and digital industry carriers, with a total signing amount of 16.3 billion yuan.
The conference, with the theme of "Gathering Data and Connecting Overseas Chinese Intelligence for the Future", gathers renowned experts from home and abroad, senior executives of leading digital economy enterprises, and well-known overseas Chinese business leaders to explore global trends in digital economy development, innovative models empowered by cutting-edge technologies in cross-border trade, finance, logistics, data flow, and other fields.
The conference proposed to promote the transition of digital technology from "single point empowerment" to "system integration" and fully integrate it into various fields such as agriculture, industry, and services. The conference topics cover areas such as digital transformation of small and medium-sized enterprises, artificial intelligence, open source AI ecosystem construction, cross-border data services, data element circulation, and industry going global. The report on the development of China's digital economy industry (2025) was released at the meeting.
Huang Zhixu, the President of the Federation of Teochew Associations in Malaysia, stated that overseas Chinese will be importers of innovative resources and drivers of industrial development in their hometown's digital economy. Leveraging the extensive international network of the overseas Chinese community, they will help connect their hometown with global markets, capital, and industrial chains.
Qing Xuehui, Vice President of Microsoft Greater China, stated that Microsoft China and Shantou Mobile are collaborating on exporting to Chinese enterprises. We will introduce AI technology to achieve intelligent product upgrades, such as embedding AI functions for real-time voice interaction.
The opening ceremony of the conference launched multiple projects, including the first stop of "Cross border Empowering Industry Guangdong Upgrade" in Guangdong, the "Laishu Processing" initiative, and the joint construction of international artificial intelligence open source communities.
