On November 12th, the press conference of the 18th China EU Investment, Trade and Technology Cooperation Fair (referred to as the "EU Fair") was held in Beijing. This year's European Trade Fair will be held in Chengdu from November 19th to 21st, with the theme of "mutual trust, mutual exchange, sharing and win-win", and will focus on topics such as bilateral economic and trade relations between China and Europe, industrial chain and supply chain cooperation for exchange and discussion.

Since its establishment, the European Trade Fair has attracted more than 12000 Chinese and European enterprises to actively participate, successfully arranging more than 29000 business matching negotiations and reaching over 3200 intentional cooperation agreements. Ran Mengzhi, Vice President of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China, said, "When innovators gather, they will surely create extraordinary achievements. In 2025, we will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Europe, making this conference even more special

Ran Mengzhi pointed out that Chengdu and Sichuan are not only gateways to western China, but also increasingly becoming innovation hubs with national and even global influence, and the future is being jointly shaped here.

The expected number of attendees for this conference exceeds 600, with over 600 guests from more than 20 countries (regions) confirmed to attend, including representatives from multiple embassies and consulates in China, 20 important business associations, as well as high-level international enterprises such as Three Gorges Corporation, CATL, AstraZeneca, and Bayer. The President of Navarra Region in Spain and Deputy Mayor of Davos, Switzerland will also lead a delegation to attend the conference and discuss new opportunities for cooperation between Chinese and European cities.

The conference focuses on cutting-edge industries, revolves around the complementarity of industries between China and Europe and global development trends, and combines Chengdu's industrial advantages to set up five parallel industry docking meetings: energy and environmental protection, biomedicine, digital cultural and creative industries, agriculture and food, and intelligent robots. The conference also interprets the EU Business Environment Report and showcases Chengdu's multi sector industrial ecology and cooperation opportunities.

In terms of pragmatic promotion of cooperation, the "one-on-one" pairing negotiation has been comprehensively upgraded, achieving precise matching before the meeting and efficient on-site docking. During the conference, Chengdu will organize industry inspections, promote 11 key industrial parks including Tianfu International Bio City, Robot Industry Park, and Tianfu Changdao Digital Industry Park, and organize more than 130 local key enterprises such as green energy, artificial intelligence, and biomedicine to conduct B2B negotiations, striving to promote more cooperation results.

The European Trade Fair, initiated by the European Commission, has become one of the largest investment, trade, and innovation cooperation events for EU member states, with the widest coverage of European enterprises and the largest scale of exchanges between China and Europe after nearly 20 years of development since its second settlement in Chengdu in 2006. This conference is jointly hosted by the China International Chamber of Commerce and the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China.

Zhang Chi, Deputy Secretary General of the Chengdu Municipal People's Government, stated that the European Trade Fair has become an important platform for promoting exchanges, cooperation, information sharing, and project docking between China and Europe, and is a shining business card for Chengdu's high-level opening-up to the outside world.
