Global Connection | Chinese Enterprises Build Waste to Energy Power Plants to Help Brazil Transform Waste into Energy

Created on 11.10
Baruerri, located about 30 kilometers from the capital of S ã o Paulo state in Brazil, is a famous commercial center where several multinational corporations have established their headquarters. The thriving commercial development has brought economic prosperity to the city, but it has also brought increasingly severe urban waste problems. Recently, the Barueri garbage power plant project, constructed by Chinese enterprises, is about to be completed. After the project is completed, it can not only solve the problem of garbage disposal, but also provide electricity for the whole city, helping the local area to "turn waste into energy".
The Barueri Garbage Power Station is one of the first garbage power stations in Brazil and even Latin America. The project covers an area of about 37000 square meters and is jointly constructed by Shandong Electric Power Construction First Engineering Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Shandong Electric Power Construction First Company) of China Power Construction Group and Northwest Electric Power Design Institute Co., Ltd. of China Energy Engineering Consulting Group.
In July of this year, the Barueri garbage power station officially entered the installation and construction phase, and is expected to be put into operation in 2027. The project is designed to process 870 tons of solid waste per day, with an installed capacity of 19.1 megawatts.
