Ozon's Q1 2025 financial report shows that its e-commerce business performed strongly. The total gross merchandise volume (GMV), including services, increased by 47% year-on-year, reaching 837.8 billion rubles.
This growth is mainly attributed to the increase in the number of orders. At the same time, the number of active buyers increased by 9 million year-on-year, reaching over 58 million, with an order frequency exceeding 27 per year, while the first quarter of 2024 recorded 22 orders. In addition, Ozon's total revenue in the first quarter increased by 65% year-on-year to 202.9 billion rubles, primarily due to the increase in service and interest income. E-commerce revenue grew by 54% year-on-year to 173.4 billion rubles.
From an overall operational perspective, Ozon has improved the proportion of gross profit to GMV to 5.6% by optimizing logistics infrastructure and operational processes. It has also achieved results in cost control, with fulfillment and delivery costs decreasing by 8.7% month-on-month, while operating expenses increased by 54% year-on-year to 35.704 billion rubles, maintaining a stable proportion of GMV. These factors have collectively contributed to a significant growth in Ozon's GMV in the first quarter of 2025, allowing it to maintain strong competitiveness in the Russian e-commerce market.
