Zeng Rong, Chief Economist of Hainan International Economic Development Bureau, introduced on the 26th that the 6th China International Consumer Goods Expo (referred to as "Consumer Expo") will be held in Hainan Province from April 13th to 18th this year, with the theme of "Openness leads global consumption, innovation drives a better life".
The Consumer Expo is the only national level exhibition in China with the theme of consumer goods, and also the largest consumer goods exhibition in the Asia Pacific region. It is reported that the main venue of the 6th Consumer Expo is located at the Hainan International Convention and Exhibition Center in Haikou, and international yacht sub exhibition areas and international health sub exhibition areas are set up in Sanya and Qionghai respectively.
Zeng Rong stated that the 6th Consumer Expo will have exhibition groups from Canada, Switzerland, Ireland, Russia, Italy, Japan, Singapore and other countries, as well as Estée Lauder from the United States, L'Oreal from France, Unilever from the United Kingdom, Reckitt Benckiser from the United Kingdom, Japan's Mitsubishi Corporation, Shiseido, Otsuka, SK-II, and international renowned brands such as Singapore's Aosheng and Indonesia's Jinguang making their debut.
She said that this year's Consumer Expo will continue to set up a special area for "China-Chic to go global", bringing together new scientific and technological products, China-Chic boutiques, intangible cultural heritage creative products, and Chinese time-honored brands.
Holding the Consumer Expo is also an important measure for China to vigorously boost consumption. At the 5th Consumer Expo, the "Buy in China" series of activities was launched. It is reported that this year, eight consumer promotion activities will continue to be held, including the "Buy in China" and the launch ceremony of the 6th Consumer Expo, the "Export to China" Silk Road E-commerce Dialogue, and the China Tour of Foreign Trade Excellence Products.
Since its first edition in 2021, the Consumer Expo has become a platform for showcasing and trading global consumer goods. Zeng Rong said that in the past five years, thousands of brands from around the world have participated in exhibitions in different forms, opening the door to the Chinese market. Meanwhile, relying on the platform of the Consumer Expo, companies such as Richemont Group and Estée Lauder have successively settled in Hainan.
