Hubei is accelerating the research and development of 6G technology, laying out and cultivating an industrial ecosystem for 6G applications. On the 20th, the Hubei Provincial 6G Innovation and Development Alliance was launched, focusing on areas such as breakthroughs in 6G core technologies, construction of standard systems, exploration of application scenarios, cultivation of industrial ecosystems, and talent training and exchange.

The reporter learned the above news from the special event on the new information network industry chain of the "51020" advanced manufacturing cluster industrial ecology in Hubei Province on the same day.

Currently, Wuhan boasts a national-level strategic emerging industry cluster for next-generation information networks. Within this cluster, the East Lake High-tech Development Zone in Wuhan has gathered over 16,000 optoelectronic information enterprises, forming a complete industrial ecosystem spanning from basic research, technology development, to product manufacturing and application services.

It is understood that focusing on the breakthrough of 6G technology, Hubei has achieved a number of landmark results in the fields of standard setting, integrated communication, wireless technology, and device research and development, and is accelerating the construction of a full-chain industrial ecosystem covering "chips - devices - systems - applications". The three major telecom operators in Hubei, namely China Mobile, China Telecom, and China Unicom, have established a number of 6G technology test and verification platforms through the deployment of 5G-A network construction in areas such as Yangtze River shipping, low-altitude economy, intelligent manufacturing, and smart cultural tourism, promoting the rapid introduction of new technologies and products to the market.

Liu Liangbo, Deputy Director of the Hubei Provincial Department of Economy and Information Technology, stated that Hubei will focus on tackling key and core technologies for 6G, promoting the deep integration of scientific research, technology, and talent resources, and accelerating the transformation and application of innovation achievements.

On the same day, Hubei Mobile and CITIC Mobile unveiled their Joint Innovation Center for 6G Technology and Industrial Application, which will focus on tackling key 6G core technologies and standard setting, and building an innovative system from R&D verification to industrialization. The signing ceremony for the establishment of the CITIC Mobile-Wuhan University Joint Laboratory for 6G was held, where both parties will collaborate on exploring cutting-edge 6G technologies and cultivating high-end talent.
